It is an incredibly fun event, which will raise some serious bucks for MFF. It is a way for golfers, both duffer and low handicapper alike, to rally their support while doing something they really enjoy – playing golf. When compared to a traditional golf tournament, golf marathons are more fun and a whole lot more profitable.
How does the MFF HERO 40 Golf Marathon Work?
It is a very simple format. As busy as most of our lives are it is as simple of a format as possible. We’ve dropped many of the huge logistics format issues like trying to rent a Golf Course for the entire day, sponsors and feed an army of Fundraisers and support staff.
In other words, you pick the most convenience weekend to Golf with 3 other buddies, friends, family or associates. Your Foursome will consist of a Player Captain to keep your MFF Classic 40 Golf Marathon Team on Task. Come up with a Team Name so we can track your annual earnings. Most of our Teams Welcome this as an annual event. We have some Teams who do it several times per year because the format is strait forward.
Player Captain: Your Foursome will consist of a Player Captain to keep your MFF Annual Classic 40 Golf Marathon on task. Player Captain has three basic functions. Come up with a Team Name so we can track your annual earnings. Most of our Teams Welcome this as an annual event. We have some Teams who do it several times per year because the format is strait forward.
Trust the Process and Follow the Format because it works! Beyond that these are only basic guidelines.
Remember to be organized; save contacts, keep all receipts etc.
Remember the Purpose of this is to Raise Funds for the Furthering of God‘s Kingdom. But, this is your fundraiser so have fun, be flexible, be creative with it, make it a competitive game, because it is. The More competitive it is the more fun it will be.
We suggest you give the Highest Fundraiser a $100 Gift Card and the winning team/player a $100 Gift Card.
Establish Your Team- Find a minimum of three other Team Members to at least make it a Foursome. To make it more fun and more competitive, we recommend Two Teams.
The Winners each get $100 Gift Card (Keep Receipts and turn it in with the Final Report) you get more than a foursome then break it down into more teams. Make it an Annual Event. When you’re setting teams, course, sponsors think annual, so everything is easier next year. Stay organized with contacts list for the ease of the following years. Much of the leg work will be done.
Cast the Vision-Sell them on the Cause- Feeding, Caring for Orphans, Building Orphanages and Training Indigenous Pastors all over the world.
Speed Golf: We base it on 36-Holes, but you will play 2 balls on 18-Holes. This is ‘Speed Golf ‘which means you play Best Ball on 18-Holes. You hit 2 Balls- Play the best ball on each shot, Leave the other ball. If you dub or shank 2, drop at your partners best shot. Its speed Golf. And Speed Putt- Anything within 10’ of the Pin is a ‘Gimmi!’ Never putt out, pick up and go to the next hole.
Remember it’s a Golf Fundraiser, not a Golf Tournament. You will lose many balls so stock up. You may expense them from donor proceeds, just return the receipts for tax purpose.
40 Hole Sponsors: Each Golf Fundraiser will reach out to 40 donors (friends, family, work and church associates) with the goal of $1/ Hole or $40/ Donor Goal of at least $1600 per team member.
Some may give .50/ Hole or $20, some may give a $100. Keep fundraising till each team member reaches their Goal of at least $1600 per team member. The Key is to Collect on the Spot, so you don’t have to revisit the donors. That equates to $1600 x 4 = $6400/Team. $1,600 x 4 golfers= $6400-$100/Golfer Expenses= -$400- $400/ 4 Golfers = $6000 Profits to Moore Family Foundation.
10 Corporate Hole Sponsors: Goal is for each Golf Fundraiser is to Secure 10 Hole Sponsors at @ $250/Team Member = $2500. 4 Golfers x 10 Sponsors will cover the 40-Holes. You may secure Corporate and Individual Sponsorships.
Golf: At this point your goal is to have fun. Each Golfer can use up to $100/Golfer for Course Fees, Food, Beverage, Balls etc. If you go over that’s great- you’ve worked hard to this point, you deserve a fun day on us.
Enjoy Lunch or Dinner, beverages on the course and be sure to stock up on balls you will need them with ‘Speed Golf’- you hit best ball and leave the other one. In addition to Hole Sponsors, each Golf Fundraiser finds 10 Traditional Corporate or Individual Hole Sponsors hole for $100/Hole. The Team captain is responsible to send a money order to Moore Family Foundation for the balance with receipts.
